I'm so very, very happy for you! I hope the Lord uses you to spread His good news of salvation and a relationship with Jesus to many of your friends and family and other people that you interact with. And you definitely need to learn more about God and His Word, the Bible, in order to do that effectively, as well as grow in your own personal faith. Great questions, by the way! I'm sorry, but this blog is something I'm not able to really keep up with currently at this phase of my life. I am a busy homeschooling mom and homemaker and this blog is simply something I started years ago when I had more free time (miss those days!) and now only post once or twice a year. So this blog would not be a good place to have any type of support group or to answer questions. You could google to find an online support group for new believers. I'm sure there are hundreds out there! Also, I strongly advise you to start studying the Bible in a group setting at a local church that feels like home to you. Are you in a church currently? They should offer Bible studies for their attendees. And make sure you attend church as often as possible to soak up all the knowledge you can and find support in person with your fellow congregation! :D And if you want to do more study on top of what you can learn from your church, there are many online and book resources for new believers. I highly suggest joining a local BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) Group in your local area. Here is a link to the official BSF website where you can find a group nearby:

https://www.bsfinternational.org/

Also, this website has trustworthy, true to the Bible books and other resources for new and more mature believers. This link here is the page for resources for new believers:

http://www.lifeway.com/n/Subject/Christian-Living/Spiritual-Disciplines/New-Believers

Congrats again on your newfound salvation and relationship with Christ, our Savior and Lord! I pray that you will be drawn ever closer to Him and grow richly in your faith and spread that joy and hope to others!! God bless you! And thanks for reading!Suzy Boshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07666434888959780479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1687583143195004471.post-37843151635368823382016-10-24T17:01:57.136-04:002016-10-24T17:01:57.136-04:00Hello , I have a few questions myself, I am very n...Hello , I have a few questions myself, I am very new to being a Christian just within the past year. Thanks for the great questions. It's...Hi Staci! Thanks for the great questions. It's very exciting hearing about your new faith in Christ. Welcome to the family! Let's see, when I want to be organized with my prayer requests and not get overwhelmed, I will take one or two main "subjects" each day and focus mostly on them in my prayer times that day. And sometimes I will continue to remember them in prayer throughout that day because of my morning reminders. So for example, on Monday I might focus on my family - immediate and extended. Then Tuesday I will focus mainly on my church family and our friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Then the next day I could focus on praying specifically for our nation and world. But each day, I like to keep the temporary prayer requests in mind to prayer for every day, such as a friend's surgery recovery, or a friend who is foster-parenting a very needy child, etc. Mind you, I don't stay this organized all year long. Only when I make the effort. It can be very easy to get bogged down by life and busyness. Another thing I will encourage you with, always, always, always follow the Holy Spirit's leading when you feel Him putting someone on your mind - He is doing that for a reason! :) So go with it and say a quick prayer for that person! Another thing, prayers don't have to be long and definitely not overwhelming. I like to talk to God as my Friend throughout the day. Sometimes out loud even. :) As 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, He wants us to "pray without ceasing". Keep that communication open with the Lord. I find the times I am most likely to spend in prayer are before I fall asleep, when I wake up, doing dishes, in the shower... These are the times I can focus totally on God without many other distractions. It might be different for everyone. I have to say I don't spend a lot of prayer time during my Bible reading time because I find it's easier for me personally to go through the prayer request reminders for that day, and then keep that list in my head as I go through the day. Hope this all helps! God bless your journey growing in your faith! Thanks again for reading.Suzy Boshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07666434888959780479noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1687583143195004471.post-37350204683364940472015-03-10T17:52:39.677-04:002015-03-10T17:52:39.677-04:00Hello! I'm very excited to start putting together my journal and becoming more purposeful with my prayer. I love praying and do it often, but get overwhelmed with so many prayer requests I keep logged in my head. My question is - when you pray do you go through your book and pray for everything in it? Or, do you just pray for what God is directing you to? That is the part I'm having a hard time figuring out. There is so much to pray for but not enough time to pray for it all. Or, am I not making enough time? Appreciate any feedback or guidance.Stacihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13857975255704487810noreply@blogger.com
